FAQs

Dolgoch Mill Side Garden

CAN I BOOK WITH YOU DIRECT?

In order to book one of your favourite Dolgoch Mill Cottages, we ask that you book directly with our booking agent:

holidaycottages.co.uk

You will be able to check instantly via their websites whether there is availability for your preferred dates.

However, we are very happy for you to contact us either via email or phone on 07940 403940 if you have any general enquiries.

CAN YOU ACCOMMODATE FAMILIES WITH BABIES AND YOUNG CHILDREN?

We welcome families with children and are delighted with the high praise received from families who have stayed at Dolgoch Mill Cottages.

However, the natural character and historic qualities of the cottages means that, regrettably, we can not accept bookings for families with babies or very small children for safety reasons as there are open tread staircases in the cottages and no stair gates.

Please also note that there is a stream adjacent to the grounds and there are some plants in the gardens that are poisonous if eaten so we therefore ask that children are supervised at all times.

There are books and games in the cottages and the TV has a built in DVD player. Television channels and access to internet streaming services are provided through a Freesat Smart Box.

CAN YOU ACCOMMODATE PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES?

We welcome everyone to Dolgoch Mill Cottages. However, as a Grade II listed building over a century old, the premises have limitations in terms of accessibility. For example, there are steps outside each of the cottages and the bedrooms and bathroom are upstairs and only accessible via an open-tread staircase.

DO YOU PROVIDE ANY ENTERTAINMENT ON SITE?

Each of the cottages has a television offering all of the FreeSat channels and a smart set top box giving access to some internet viewing platforms. The television has a built in DVD player, plus we also provide a selection of games and books for you to enjoy.

WHERE CAN I BUY FOOD?

There is a Londis store in the neighbouring village of Drefach Felindre which is just a 10 minute walk or a two-minute drive away. Londis is a general store, off-licence, newsagents and Post Office. There are also supermarkets in Newcastle Emlyn, just 4.5 miles away. Major supermarket chains are around a 30 minute drive away.

CAN I EAT OUT LOCALLY?

Within walking distance there are three pubs worthy of a visit. The nearest two serve traditional pub food most evenings and some lunchtimes. There is a fish and chip takeaway within walking distance and a Michelin Country Pub and Restaurant just 3.5 miles away. The market town of Newcastle Emlyn, just 4.5 miles away, has several restaurants and further takeaways. A wide choice of country and coastline restaurants and pubs are within a 30 minute drive. Put on your stout shoes and turn your walk into an adventure by choosing the longer country paths and tracks; you’ll quickly find yourself surrounded by stunning scenery as you meander through the valleys and cross babbling streams.

DO YOU HAVE BROADBAND?

Yes, Dolgoch Mill Cottages has broadband accessed via WiFi. There should be at the very least 20 Mbps throughout the cottages although the actually performance can be impacted by the number of people staying and using WiFi across the cottages.

WHAT’S THE MOBILE PHONE SIGNAL LIKE?

Dolgoch Mill Cottages are located in an idyllic country setting with stunning scenery but there are a few potential disadvantages of being in the countryside… one of them being mobile phone coverage! You should get reasonable O2 4G signal anywhere in and around the cottages. This will also be true for Tesco Mobile, Sky Mobile, Lycamobile and Giffgaff who all use the O2 network. Other networks are variable so please enquire for further details if mobile signal is important to you.
